1

Take a Cutting

  • Find a healthy lower lateral branch.
  • Cut at a 45˚ angle.
2

Scrape Away the Epidermis

  • Using a razor blade, remove the outermost layer of skin from the cutting.
3

Treat the Cutting

  • Dip the cutting in a rooting agent.
  • For best results use an agent that contains the plant hormone indole butyric acid (IBA). We recommend Clonex Rooting Gel.
4

Place the Cutting in Media

  • We recommend rockwool due to its ideal oxygen to moisture ratio.
5

Place in a Propagation Tray

  • Use a tray with a humidity dome.
  • Open the dome twice daily for 15 minutes. Spray the humidity dome, before replacing, to increase humidity.
  • It is important for the cutting to have high humidity since it will not be able to uptake moisture until its roots have developed.
