1
Take a Cutting
- Find a healthy lower lateral branch.
- Cut at a 45˚ angle.
|
2
Scrape Away the Epidermis
- Using a razor blade, remove the outermost layer of skin from the cutting.
|
|
3
Treat the Cutting
- Dip the cutting in a rooting agent.
- For best results use an agent that contains the plant hormone indole butyric acid (IBA). We recommend Clonex Rooting Gel.
|
4
Place the Cutting in Media
- We recommend rockwool due to its ideal oxygen to moisture ratio.
|
|
5
Place in a Propagation Tray
- Use a tray with a humidity dome.
- Open the dome twice daily for 15 minutes. Spray the humidity dome, before replacing, to increase humidity.
- It is important for the cutting to have high humidity since it will not be able to uptake moisture until its roots have developed.
